When You Just Need a Change…ANY Change…Bangs?

So lately I’ve been really wanting some kind of drastic change with my “look.” The last time I made any kind of major change was the summer before Junior year of college…I had a minor boy freak out and decided to pull an Ashlee Simpson and dye my hair dark from being blonde. Well, I chickened out and only went as far as mousey brown. Even still, I felt completely liberated. However, in true drugstore hair dye form, the color faded before anyone could even notice and I was called out for being “dramatic.” Go figure…maybe I need Heidi Klum’s bangs…OR Heidi Klum’s body. Either or…

Givenchy Phenomen’Eyes Mascara

So as a huge mascara fan, (the blacker and thicker, the better in my book) I was dying to try Givenchy's Phenomen'Eyes Mascara. The whole concept of vibrating mascaras completely frightens me, especially since I usually put makeup on while half asleep. Luckily, this mascara perfectly curls and separates lashes with its high-tech patented round sphere.

Are You There Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea

So, as promised, my thoughts on Chelsea Handler’s second book, Are You There Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea. I mean, I didn’t actually believe that Chelsea could have even MORE ridiculous stories…but she did. This book delves a little bit deeper than just the usual one-nighters…she also tells ridiculously funny tales about her family. I won’t spoil the surprise, but let’s just say more midgets are involved.

The Best Hangover Cures?

So one of my favorite blogs, The Jet Set Girls, posted an interesting (and very appropriate) story for this cold and rainy Sunday afternoon- hangover cures from Men.Style.com. Personally, I have a tradition of ordering spicy Chinese food and drinking diet peach Snapple (sometimes with an Advil, if necessary) but apparently others find exercise and pickle juice to do the trick. Exercise?! Really? That’s the last thing I could possibly do when I’m hungover…and hair of the dog? I don’t know about you, but I usually vow to “never drink again”(at least until next weekend) and even the simple thought of taking another sip of alcohol makes my stomach turn. Also, I love how number one is Advil and water before bed. Um…who’s actually sober enough to remember to do this? I digress…

All I Want for Christmas…

So as I was sitting at Thanksgiving dinner with my Dad and sister, my Dad asked his usual question that comes around this time every year, “what do you want for Christmas?” Seems like a simple enough question but, you see, my father only ever shops at Best Buy and since I just purchased a new purple iPod Nano Chromatic, I apparently let him with no options. Ahh, family. Anyway, the only other thing I could think of to tell him was the Shu Uemura 24K Gold Limited Edition Eyelash Curler. Basically, the complete opposite of anything that can be purchased at Best Buy. Best of luck to you, Dad.

J.Crew Mirror Mini Notebooks…For Adults

So it’s no secret that I’m a fan of cute “school supplies,” a.k.a stationary and office supplies. My favorite thing about back-to-school time was going to the store to pick out all my new pencils, notebooks and binders. Dork, I know. Anyway, J.Crew has come up with the adult version. I LOVE these shiny notebooks with sayings on them like “Secret Lovers” and “Little Pink Book.” Get yours now- the perfect stocking stuffer.

Make Your Own Lip Gloss Holiday Gift Idea

So I saw an amazing idea on BellaSugar for a super cheap (and easy) gift for a friend, sister, cousin, someone you kind of hate, etc. Make your own lip gloss! Check out their post for the exact how-to’s but I’d also like to thrown in that you don’t necessarily need to use the weird drugstore “M T W TH F S SU” pill box. You could check out Kitson for one of their silver numbers or even go vintage…I know my mom has a ton of little boxes that can hold literally NOTHING just laying around as a “chachkey.” Word. And you know, technically, you could even use lipstick that you’ve used…all you’d have to do is chop off the top part that you started…eww, I’m grossing myself out now.
