Play time with Gemma and Gea

By now, you all know how much I love my cats, Gemma and Gea. To say that I’m obsessed with them is a light way to describe just how much my heart melts every time Gemma lies across my chest and purrs. Or when Gea runs up to me as I walk in the door, looks me right in the eye and begins telling me her “story,” as I call it.

I live for these two and I’m actually tearing up as I write this post because I’m about to head off to Australia in a few hours and I won’t see my babies for two weeks! I was actually really excited I was able to shoot “the girls” (as my friends call them) before I leave for my trip because I was able to take the CUTEST PICTURES EVER with me! I was excited to play with them and their favorite green ribbon and give them some delicious food.

Gea! I call her my “little baby bug.”

My god, isn’t Gemma just insanely adorable?

What I didn’t expect? How much the girls would LOVE Purina’s new Pro Plan Shredded Blend. And, believe me, when Purina reached out, I made sure to check out the product before trying it since I whole-heartedly believe in feeding my cats the best food available. As it’s important that I (and people in general) eat healthy, it is JUST as important that our pets eat well. I’m pretty sure Gea actually thought the Shredded Blend, in chicken and rice formula, was a treat because even after the photo shoot was over, she tried scratching at the bag and kept meowing at me like she wanted more. Now THAT is a true testament to good cat food!

A little about the product, and why the girls loved it: it’s a mix of crunchy kibble and tender meaty pieces — either chicken and rice or salmon and rice — each with a total of 40 percent protein. The meat is real, and the formula boasts prebiotic fiber to help promote digestive health AND omega fatty acids for a healthy coat and skin. People always comment on how soft Gemma’s coat is and a big part of that is the fact that I always make sure her food has a good amount of omega fatty acids in it! So key.

I love this one that shows Gea literally licking her lips (!)
