Redbook’s latest Red Box

Back about a year ago I reviewed this Red Box (and loved it) so I was obviously excited to try out their latest box. I actually prefer the Red Box over most other beauty boxes since you get FULL SIZE products; I mean, sometimes a sample is great but trying something one time doesn’t always sell me, you know? Anywho, the current Red Box has three awesome products, only one of which I’ve tried before.

Dove Dry Oil Moisture Nourishing Body Wash: Dove’s Dry Oil body wash (the one thing I’ve tried before, by the way) is what I always recommend to someone who wants a really moisturizing body wash that is also a really good value. This version, in particular, contains Moroccan argan oil, which is known for its nourishing properties, combined with mild (good-for-any-skin) cleansers. Love, love, love this stuff.

SkinFix Eczema Hand Repair Cream: I personally don’t have eczema but anyone I know who DOES have it has a REALLY hard time finding products that actually work to combat the issue. I feel your pain, guys. It sounds terrible and, in all honesty, I was super impressed with all the accolades that this specific eczema hand cream has received (awards from Allure, Shape and Redbook– for real). So what makes it rad? The 1% colloidal oatmeal targets eczema, dermatitis and extreme dryness on first application, mind you, and calms all redness and also rebuilds the skin’s barrier. What makes this really desirable to anyone with serious eczema is the fact that it doesn’t have any steroids, which do work but you can’t use steroids too often or they lose their effect. The brand also has proof with a clinical study, which you KNOW I love: 111% (who knew that was even possible?) said their skin moisturization levels increased and 100% said skin stinging and dryness decreased. Win.

OGX Strength & Body Bamboo Fiber-Full Thickening Root Booster: As someone with fine hair I’m always on the lookout for a good thickening product, especially when the focus is on the root of the hair. This spray uses a blend of bamboo fibers and soy proteins to give your locks a lightweight “boost”- it really does work and I was impressed that my hair wasn’t sticky or gross after spraying it on (something that happens a LOT with other root boosters).

Thank you to Redbook magazine for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own, as per usual.
