I was going to wait until I start posting my holiday gift ideas (after Thanksgiving, cause I’m not INSANE), but I just couldn’t wait to talk about this fan-effing-tastic Paul & Joe Limited Edition Eye & Cheek Color Set…cat-themed, of course. I want to be clear when I tell you that I’m probably never going to actually use the blusher stick because, really, I just like starting at the little cat face top and my lips would absolutely destroy it’s cuteness. Regardless, this set is a must-have for any cat lover/girly girl; You get the cute cat bag, an eye color duo, an eye gloss and a blusher stick…and for only $65, mind you. Get it now, available in two versions: Sugar & Spice and Gingerbread.
1. Koh Gen Do Cleansing Spa Water: I know what you’re thinking…spa water? Really? But it’s just soooo good. The Cleansing Spa Water is actually Koh Gen Do’s bestselling skincare product and is easy and gentle to use for all skin types. Made with mineral-rich hot spring water, it’s basically infused with six essential herbs to protect and nurture skin. White birch sap, harvested only three weeks each spring, adds minerals and Xylitol as it removes makeup, oils, and residue. The formula includes the extracts of essential herbs including: rosemary leaf, sage leaf, lavender, artemsia princeps leaf, perilla ocymoides, and ginger root…so yeah, it’s not actually JUST spa water.
2. Jouer Liquid Shimmer Eyeliner: Aside from the awesome animal-themed color names (Panter, Lynx, Fox, Leopard, Mink and Sable), this liquid liner is just ridiculously good…and more importantly, easy to use. The subtle shimmer in each shade offers extreme wearability while the water-base formula allows for a little extra dry-down time; it’s also rich in vitamins A and E…bonus.
3. Boscia Konjac Cleansing Sponge: This sponge is serious business. The Japanese have traditionally used konjac root as a dietary staple that helps to detoxify and calm the skin so it makes total sense that it now comes in sponge form. Konjac Root is naturally alkaline, and balances the acidity of the skin’s impurities and oils while being naturally enriched with protein, carbohydrate, iron, phosphorus, copper, zinc, vitamin A, vitamin E, vitamin D, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, vitamin C, and folic acid. Interesting fact: Konjac was originally introduced to Japan as a medicine in the sixth century, and continues to lend its incredible benefits to health foods as well as skincare. Today, it is grown wild and in farms at very high altitudes, which help to keep the sponge extremely pure and free of pollutants.
4. Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara: First of all, I LOVE that this mascara is inspired by the curves of a woman’s body; the hourglass-shaped brush was designed with extra stiff bristles to maximize the performance of this carbon black, collagen-fueled formula. All it takes is one coat and your lashes are full and defined…this is definitely a mascara winner in my book.
5. Olie Biologique Rejuvenating Oil: I love a good face oil, let me tell you. This product boasts a blend of eight organic plant botanicals and floral extracts that provide all-natural skin quenching properties with lightweight, healing potency. Anti-oxidants, fatty acids and naturally occurring retinoic acid preserve elasticity, plump lines and improve firmness. Oh, and it’s non-greasy for anyone worried about that.
This post is sponsored by COVERGIRL but all opinions are my own and very, very real…as per usual.
Guys, I’ve blogged about COVERGIRL like a million times (because I love it) and when they asked me to be their COVERGIRL Beauty Ambassador, I yelped with excitement. You know you’re going to be watching the MTV Video Music Awards this Sunday (at 9pm!), so make sure you are also following me on Twitter and Instagram, because I will be hosting an intimate viewing party at my apartment. I know, I know…this means that, yes, I’ll have to clean my entire apartment and put away all of the random beauty products that I have thrown all over my loveseat. It’s a sad, but true story. So basically, not only do you get to check out the behind-the-scenes from my viewing party, where I’ll be sharing my favorite red carpet looks, but you ALSO get to see a few glimpses of my Hollywood Hills apartment. Lucky you, lol. I’m pretty pumped about it because not only is COVERGIRL providing gift bags and food from one of LA’s fiiiinest restaurants, but they also hired one of my favorite makeup artists EVER: Ms. Emily Warren! Emily and I go waaaay back to when I was doing beauty PR and she was an editor at COSMOgirl! Ahh, memories. I digress.
Here are the details:
MTV and COVERGIRL want to know, what’s your #covermoment? A #covermoment is the moment when a woman feels her most beautiful and empowered and wants to share it with the world. Whether it’s a selfie (but god, you know I hate those) or a group shot with friends, these are the moments in your life that you feel your most confident, independent, authentic self. COVERGIRL’s #covermoment tool will pull in Instagram and Twitter posts using the hashtag #covermoment from across the globe, bringing together celebrities, artists, and users all in one place, which is pretty awesome…and inspiring.
Anywho, I want you guys to join along, using the #covermoment hashtag! Tell me who you think rocked the red carpet! .
Here are my top COVERGIRL makeup pics, especially for Los Angeles:
COVERGIRL Lipslicks Smoochies Lip Balm in “Tweet Me”: The name…oh so appropriate for the VMAs, right? There’s something very Hollywood glam about a fun red lip, which is why I’m really into this glossy, bright balm. It’s hydrating and non-sticky (my favorite).
COVERGIRL & OLAY Tone Rehab Foundation: Sadly, the word “rehab” is kind of synonymous with Hollywood but I still think it makes waaaay more sense when it comes to skincare. COVERGIRL & OLAY’s CC Cream products conceal and cover instantly, while also working to correct and improve skin tone over time. A CC Cream (Color + Correction) is a new way to get luminous coverage for youthful, radiant looking skin. The Tone Rehab product line works instantly to cover and even out your skin tone, while also helping to improve skin tone over time. One pump instantly covers discolorations, lines and wrinkles.
COVERGIRL Clean Glow Bronzer: Obviously, I’m a super pale girl living in a super tan WORLD (out here in Los Angeles), so a bronzer is necessary ALWAYS. I like this bronzer, in particular, because it’s great for sensitive skin and also not too bronze.
One more thing. As if you need yet another reason to watch the VMAs (you don’t) but here’s a little secret: The very first “Hunger Games: Catching Fire” COVERGIRL TV commercial will air during the VMAs! If you don’t already know, COVERGIRL is set to release a total of 12 high-fashion beauty looks, each inspired by a district in the film! I’m pretty much dying to see all 12 looks, especially since I’ve only seen Fishing and Luxury so far. You can’t miss it.
New video series! Woo! One of my favorite things to do is to pick out beauty products for my friends and family, fact. After a bit of thinking, I figured, hey, why not film me in action! Laugh if you will, but my girl Kristen and I had a majorly fun time filming at my friend Sal’s house (hence, the Louise cameo).
To say that I’m a mascara hoarder would be an understatement. I’m too afraid to actually go into my beauty closet and COUNT all of the mascara that I’ve hoarded over the years because, yeah, it might be a little bit scary. In this BATTLE OF video, I compare two similar mascaras from Benefit and Tarte to see which one works best for me. Check it out.
