The CBD-based Beauty Products I’m Feeling Right Now

cbd-based beauty products

Because I’m really very into all things CBD (and you should be, too)…

Back in April I wrote THIS POST on a few CBD products that were helping my lower back pain (and yep, they still are) but, since then, I’ve tested a bunch more and I wanted to do another post on my new favorites.  Funny enough, all of these are for the face (except for the one new Lord Jones oil), which is funny since the last post was all body products!

CBD-Based Beauty Products

I know a lot of people are still a little confused about CBD when it comes to beauty so I want to reiterate- CBD (that contains no THC) will NOT GET YOU HIGH.  And from what I’ve seen, 99.9% of the CBD-based beauty products I’ve come across don’t contain any THC since it’s still illegal in most states.  If you want the “high version” you’ll have to live in California, Colorado, etc. and buy whatever version your local weed store sells.  I know I’ve seen one or two lotions/balms at the MedMen in West Hollywood, but I haven’t tested any of those and, to be honest, I probably won’t cause I’m totally good with the pure CBD version; I for sure feel the effects!

Another thing to point out: Not all CBD is created equal.

Pay attention to the mg listed on the packaging (100mg is a good amount and you will for sure feel it).  That said, it’s important to note that some brands use CBD isolate, a cheaper and more heavily processed extract that is derived by stripping away all of the plant’s natural compounds and isolating only one.  You don’t want that.  But CBD is a really new addition to the beauty industry (aka kind of the wild west), so it’s really hard to know which brands are for real and which are NOT at this point.  I really can feel some kind of overall guidelines and restrictions coming soon (hopefully). In the meantime, do your research and continue to read blogs (like mine!) for the best info 🙂

Here are four of my current favorites…

lord jones body oil

Lord Jones High CBD Formula Body Oil:

This lightweight oil quickly became a coffee table staple for me (i.e. within quick reach).  I’m still super loyal to the Body Lotion version, but the oil is especially nice on my wrists and even my temples.  The fast-absorbing CBD-infused oil is also formulated with antioxidant vitamin E so you’re getting other skin-boosting benefits as well!  It’s ideal for post-workout recovery, deep hydration, soothing relief, and many other skin and body woes—to soothe pressure points everywhere you need it (on temples, neck, shoulders, arms, legs).  Basically it’s an all-in-one and you will love it.

coso beauty facial sheet mask. cbd-based beauty products

Coso Beauty CBD-Infused Facial Sheet Mask:

I went to an event for this a few months back and was super impressed/shocked that I hadn’t seen CBD-based beauty products like this face mask before!  The sheet mask has 10mg of CBD, which is a good amount since most whole bottles have 100mg. It also promotes hydration and anti-aging.  Essentially the mask works to undo skin damage from pollution, sun, and various environmental factors.  LOVE.

Kiehl's Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil Herbal Concentrate, cbd-based beauty products

Kiehl’s Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil Herbal Concentrate:

Cannabis sativa oil is something I only recently learned about!  And technically I should note that cannabis sativa is NOT the same as CBD. This product doesn’t actually contain CBD but – truth bomb here – I didn’t know that when I shot these photos! LOL.  Like I said, still learning…

That said, I LOVE this facial oil. It’s lightweight and infused with cannabis sativa, a hemp-derived seed oil that calms the skin and reduces redness! It does a great job of making my face less red, you know?  And the brand also told me it’s great for breakouts and acne-prone skin. The cannabis sativa helps to improve the skin’s barrier. They also added in green oregano oil, which helps with problem skin.

sagely roll-on oil cbd-based beauty products

Sagely Natural Relief & Recovery CBD Roll-On Oil:

Back when I had my last job that was in-office, I always kept one or two roll-on relief oils around. You never know when you’re gonna get stressed out and need to relax.  This CBD version is an essential oil blend of peppermint, rosemary and eucalyptus, plus CBD oil!  I wish I had this at my desk seven years ago, let’s just leave it at that.  Apply it to your temples, neck and forehead 🙂
