World Congress of Dermatology Conference with L’Oréal Paris

Because this trip combined three things that I love: skincare, travel and salmon…

L’Oréal Paris is a brand that I honestly really respect.  I love the fact that they make something for nearly every makeup or skincare concern, prices are fair and, best of all, their products actually WORK.  So when the brand asked me if I wanted to attend the 23rd World Congress of Dermatology Conference with them I was instantly excited (hiii, I’m a skincare nerd).  Then I found out the conference was being held in Vancouver, Canada and got EVEN MORE EXCITED.  Vancouver!  Canada!  Weirdly enough, this trip was my first time EVER in Canada- yep, I’ve been to Asia, Europe and South America…but not our friendly neighbor to the north.  And Vancouver?!?!  I can’t even hold down my previous excitement because THAT is how much I had been dying to check out “Van,” as it’s often called.

Not to get too side tracked, but Cory always told me about how much he L-O-V-E-D Vancouver; he lived there for many years before he moved to LA to start working on Glee, and…he ended up dying there.  I would be lying if I said that I didn’t think about him on this trip, especially with the 2nd anniversary of his death coming up in July, but I’m really, truly happy that I ended up being so IMPRESSED with Vancouver, not just for Cory’s sake but because Vancouver really is that cool, guys.  You gotta get there.

And, yes, that IS the cheesy Snapchat sticker for Vancouver. Love it. (Follow me @itsjamiestone)

First stop: FEED MYSELF.  My friend Danielle (from L’Oréal Paris) was coming from New York (Vancouver is on the west coast- a fairly quick flight from LA!) so she wasn’t getting in until late.  I arrived, checked into The Fairmont Vancouver and immediately texted my Vancouver native friend, Sharon, for an “I’m HANGRY but don’t want to waste a meal opportunity- send me good places to go” ideas.  I obviously wanted to try the famous “BC (British Colombia) Salmon” and it did NOT disappoint.

The next day Danielle and I headed to the conference to hear the L’Oréal Paris Symposium.  Topic: Beyond wrinkles, volume: when aesthetic procedures inspire new cosmetics – YES.  Elizabeth Bouhadana, L’Oréal Paris Global Scientific Director, gave a great presentation on the brand’s 30 years of anti-aging experience, clinical efficacy for the Revitalift line, and the major impact that pollution and other environmental pollution really has on the skin – I never realized how much it really affects us!  That said, the brand’s vision is that HEALTH is the future of beauty, and their mission is to empower everyone with the most advanced integrative skin health to prevent, protect, treat and enhance for long-lasting beauty.  Can’t beat that in my book.

I was dying to check out the Capilano Suspension Bridge, located in a 25 acre park just outside the city.  Seriously, Vancouver is SO awesome.

L'Oreal paris Revitalift

Ok, now let’s get down to the products I learned about…

l'oreal paris revitalift day cream

L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Triple Power Day Lotion Moisturizer SPF 20: A daily moisturizer that moisturizes, repairs wrinkles, smoothes fine lines, fades dark spots AND has SPF 20 is pretty much my idea of perfection, no?  This lightweight lotion helps transform the look of aging skin by combining the powerful anti-aging action of Pro-Xylane and Bright Active XP3, with broad-spectrum SPF 20 protection against the sun’s UVA and UVB rays…a daily MUST-HAVE.

l'oreal paris revitalift volume filler moisturizer

L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Daily Volumizing Moisturizer: So this moisturizer is awesome for night time, one because it doesn’t have any SPF, but mostly because it’s got a HIGH dose of purified hyaluronic acid, which boosts the skin’s natural moisture retention AND reduces fine lines and wrinkles.  But remember, the hyaluronic acid part of this product is key because anti-aging is not just about chasing after lines and wrinkles, it’s about replenishing the skin’s volume.  Skin loses volume when levels of hyaluronic acid—a naturally occurring, hydrating substance within the skin—starts to decline.

L'oreal paris revitalift volume filler serum

L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Daily Volumizing Concentrated Serum: Just like the regular moisturizer (not for day time), this serum is infused with a high dose of purified hyaluronic acid.  If you prefer a serum over a moisturizer, this product is definitely for you.  Can we also talk about the packaging? So chic.

FTC Disclosure: L’Oréal Paris invited me on a trip to attend the World Congress of Dermatology Conference in Vancouver, Canada.  All expenses were paid for by the brand, but all opinions are my own…as per usual.
