Unique Holiday Gift Ideas

Because these holiday gifts are all unique and amazing and not your typical candle kind of gift…

No candles or boring bottle of wine here!  Over the past few weeks I’ve been bookmarking these gifts, wanting to include them in a holiday gift. Then I realized they all had one thing in common: the uniqueness.  Here are a few fun and unique holiday gift ideas that I can promise your friend/family member hasn’t received before!

Unique Holiday Gift Ideas

1-) A Bath & Body Works throwback to middle/high school:

If the girl you’re shopping for went to middle school or high school in the late 90s, she is guaranteed to LOVE getting a set of throwback scent body washes from BBW.  Personally, I was always a Sun Ripened Raspberry girl but then I moved on to Pearberry and never looked back.

2-) Lord Jones The Royal Treatment Gift Box:

You know I’m a big CBD fan, and I especially love Lord Jones products since they’re chic and the formulas are top notch.  This “The Royal Treatment” gift set is perfection since you get their new Bath Salts (I recently posted me using this on my IG Stories!). It also has their High CBD Formula Heavy Duty Chill Balm AND their Royal Oil. Think of it like luxurious relaxation in a box.

3-) LUSH Little Green Bag:

For your eco-conscious friend or family member (or even someone you think needs to be), I love this bag of zer0-waste beauty products.  Even the bag is reusable and made from recycled PET plastic 🙂

4-) If You Give An Ox An Oxy:

Remember the mouse who wanted a cookie and a glass of milk to go with it? Or the moose who wanted a muffin?  In If You Give an Ox an Oxy, the kid in your life meet an ox who takes a prescription medication called an opioid. They will follow him as he goes from taking a few opioids, to overusing them, and finally becoming addicted, learning about treatment for addiction and how dangerous taking illegal opioid drugs can be.

I love how Dr. Happe (the author) transforms the beloved childhood picture book into an educational resource that kids and teens are sure to remember, and that will help them understand the risks of opioid use (and why it’s best not to start in the first place).  This book is especially meaningful to me since my little sister Melissa overdosed on Percocet in 2016; I wish this book existed 10 years ago…

5-) Toptote hat clips:

This is honestly the accessory you never knew you needed. My friend Lindsay invented and patented these hat clips and they’re truly a game-changer.  I blogged about it in my blog post on eight products you absolutely need when you travel!

6-) Operation ResCute stuffed animal dogs:

I’m kind of killing the kid game this year, gotta say.  But, honestly, I also kind of love this as a holiday gift for an adult animal lover, too!  There’s three different dogs (with different, real-life stories) available for sale (on Amazon, btw!) and 100% of the profits go towards helping shelter dogs get adopted.

Operation ResCUTE Inc. is a non-profit organization trying to educate and encourage the next generation of young readers to think about adopting shelter dogs in need of a loving home. Crazy fact- only 30% of pets in homes come from shelters and rescue organizations, and an estimated 2.7 million healthy pets remain in shelters each year.  I love the concept of this book and stuffed dog gift set!

7-) Misunderstood Ginger Spiced Whiskey:

This easy-to-down whiskey is top of my list for a hostess gift this year.  The 80 proof American blended whiskey is distilled from midwest grains, aged in used American oak barrels, and proudly infused & bottled in Kentucky.  Even though I DO like whiskey, when the brand pitched me they told me bout how “whiskey phobics” love this spicy blend and, personally, I’ve been enjoying it on the rocks.  It is legit DELICIOUS.

😎 Eklexic name initial necklace:

A personalized necklace is always a unique holiday gift, and these 10K gold name initials from Eklexic are different from the typical boring kind of lettering you normally see. I also love the idea of doing first and last together on one chain!  I’ll take a J and an S, please.

9-) Peanut Butter Sampler:

Another really unique holiday gift is this super unique peanut butter sampler set…I’ve actually never seen artisan peanut butter before!  Made from honey roasted peanuts, this crunchy, small batch assortment is chock full of sweet and salty additions. Spread on fresh bread, dip with apples, or just enjoy with a spoon—I’ll be doing the same.  The peanut butter is handmade in Indiana.

10-) All American Muslim Girl:

My friend Nadine’s latest book is an absolute game-changer (it’s a young adult book but, let me tell you, adults are loving it, too…including me).  The book is loosely based off Nadine’s own experiences growing up as a fair-skinned, green eyed, blonde who just so happens to be Muslim.  Through out the book main character Allie witnesses the growing Islamophobia in her small town and across the nation and it’s at this point she really decided to embrace her faith but also questions what it means to be a “good muslim.”  AAMG is totally relevant, important and really just so well written.

  1. Jamie – thank you for sharing Ox’s story in your gift guide! I was so sorry to read about your sister’s death. She was beautiful and the ring you created is a special tribute.
I wrote this book because parents often struggle with what to say to their teens about opioids – it’s a tough topic! I wanted to make it easy for them in an effort to prevent more tragic deaths. Thank you for all of your work to bring awareness to substance use disorder.
    Sincerely,
    Laura Happe
