Because tis the season…

I can NOT believe that it’s already December, BUT I am excited for the holiday season.  I’ve been keeping a list of my favorite holiday must-watch movies the past few months and figured it would also make for a great blog post!

I’d love to know what holiday movies are on your must-watch list?  Comment below and let me know.

My Favorite Holiday Movies to Watch in December

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (HBO Max)

This one is definitely my number one holiday movie and I have such happy memories watching this one with my dad; I swear, I could watch this movie 20 times a year and I still laugh every single time.  It’s a classic, and for good reason.  It’s also inspired a slew of unofficial merch on Etsy that I love to scan every holiday season.

Jingle All The Way (Disney+)

I feel like this one often gets overlooked, but it was one of my favorites growing up (and my late sister Melissa’s number one).  Arnold Schwarzenegger stars along Sinbad and it’s good for all ages.

The Santa Clause (Disney+)

A millennial child classic!  Obviously, the first movie is the best (there are three), but I’ve also really been loving the new The Santa Clauses series that just came out.  There’s six episodes, released weekly.

Home Alone (Disney+)

Another millennial child classic and, same as above, the OG Home Alone is definitely the best.  That said, I do also really love the second one where Kevin gets lost in New York City.  You can skip three, four, five, and six, IMO.  I also can’t even believe that made that many!

Miracle on 34th Street (Disney+)

This movie was made in 1947 and is definitely the oldest movie on my list of favorites.  I tend to be more into new classics (like every other movie on this list), but I always loved this one growing up.  There’s something so sweet and idyllic about it and I remember really believing that this movie’s Santa was the REAL Santa.

Four Christmases (HBO Max)

If you’re a divorced kid like I am, you will literally laugh out loud while watching Four Christmases.  It stars Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn and, my god, there are some hilarious/relatable blended family moments.

Elf (HBO Max)

It was pretty obvious that Will Ferrell’s Elf character was going to be iconic the first time you watch this classic.  It came out in 2003 (while I was in college), and still gets quoted to this day.

How The Grinch Stole Christmas (HBO Max)

Jim Carey’s version is also a must; I was in high school when this one came out and I always wished it came out when I was super young cause it’s just so good.

The Holiday (Hulu)

No explanation really necessary here, right?  Every millennial woman absolutely LOVES The Holiday.  The fashion!  The love stories!  The English cottage!  Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet!  It’s everything we need in life.

A Bad Moms Christmas (Netflix)

So, as you guys know, I’m not a mom but I AM a huge fan of literally every actress in this movie.  I mean.  Kristen Bell, Mila Kunis, Kathryn Hahn, Susan Sarandon, Cheryl Hines and Christine Baranski.  How did they even pull this off, right?  The movie itself is legit laugh-out-loud funny and I do think it’s going to become a new classic (it came out in 2017).

Noelle (Disney+)

Lastly, the most recent new favorite is Noelle (released in 2019), a Disney+ original Christmas movie starring Anna Kendrick, Bill Hader, and so many more.  This movie is just SO cute and actually takes a unique and new spin on the Santa legacy.  I won’t spoiler it for you, but I love the feminist vibes here.
