Because, let’s be honest, we’re all a little curious how fine jewelry actually gets made…
Since I hold the title of one of the most decisive people you will ever meet, it should come as no surprise to you that I like to get down with custom jewelry. “But, can you make it without that stone?” “But, can you add a black diamond here?” “But, can you make the band thinner?” My god, I feel badly for the person who ends up designing my future engagement ring. That said, when Marie Claire and Simon G. jewelry invited me to a behind-the-scenes tour of their headquarters (and a delicious brunch), I got pretty excited.
Simon G. takes a lot of care into their work (as you will see below) and each piece is set with the finest quality, conflict-free diamonds and natural colored gemstones.
THIS appetizer display almost had me cheat on my Paleo diet. Almost…
This is the diamond selection room where the best quality diamonds are selected for specific pieces. So rad.
More people at work. Simon G. is a family-owned company that handcrafts their luxury pieces with precise detail.
I was so impressed with this ring mold tree.
Their archives of ring molds was also really impressive. They save every mold, just in case their customers need a duplicate copy ever!
The archives.
A few Simon G. earrings that I wouldn’t mind having. The brand really prides themselves on their ability to create custom pieces, which is fab.
I Instagrammed this photo of the amazing Paleo version of the caprese tower that they made for me. SO GOOD, by the way. They substituted the cheese for avocado and thinly sliced cucumber.
