Calvin Klein is re-making the little white dress from “Clueless”!

So if you didn’t already know, Clueless is one of my all-time favorite movies…so when I heard that Calvin Klein was remaking the little white dress from Cher’s date with Christian (who later turned out to be gay), I let out a little yelp of excitement.  Ilaria Urbinati, the co-owner of Confederacy, an LA boutique, met with Calvin Klein’s creative director, Francisco Costa, about stocking Calvin’s collection, he just so happened to make the very special, very specific request.  “I sort of geeked out on him, (explaining) how my formative-years love of Calvin Klein was partly basedon the little white minidress Alicia Silverstone wears in Clueless,” Urbanati told InStyle.com.  “I need you to remake the dress!”  Apparently, he didn’t need much convincing…they got their hand on the original pattern and  re-created it exclusively for Confederacy.  The dress is available in the original white that Cher wore and in red.  My god, I can seriously hear the entire scene in my head…

Mel: Cher, what’s that?

Cher: It’s a dress, Daddy.

Mel: Says who?

Cher: Calvin Klein.

Mel: It looks like underwear.  Put something over it.

Oh, if I only had $915…

Support your teams with style and class

Lady GaGa supporting the New York Yankees and Sydne Summer tastefully supporting the LA Lakers

So I saw this crazy photo of Lady GaGa the other day and I was honestly a little grossed out.  We all know that I love me some Lady GaGa but come on, there’s a fine line.  The whole Yankee jersey fiasco made me think about how I don’t own ANY clothing to support my home state teams (New York Knicks and New York Mets) because frankly, everything I see is a made for a dude.  I recently heard about Alyssa Milano’s sportswear line and thought it was such an innovative idea that I had to share.  I mean, I’ve never really thought much about Alyssa Milano…her ridiculous Jersey Shore parody annoyed me, frankly and she hasn’t really had a real job since Charmed but hey, at least she’s making some money off her sportswear line, touch by Alyssa Milano.

Hudson Jeans VIP Party

So my friend’s Jessie and Dina invited me to a fabulous LA party on behalf of their client, Hudson Jeans, at the newly opened The Colony.  I was super excited to attend this event for the following reasons- 1-) I haven’t seen Jessie and Dina since I left NY 2-) Hudson Jeans are awesome and 3-) I’d been dying to check out The Colony, since it’s “Hamptons-inspired.”  Sydne and I, as usual, were twinsies with our matching studded Matt & Nat bags, naturally.  The party was really fun and I even got to bring my friend Kelley, who had been hibernating in her apartment for the last few months due to some very exciting news!  As a side note, I need to have someone start reminding me that I really should slap on some self-tanner to my legs before going to these events…any takers?

Tory Burch Foundation CD

So one of my favorite New York designers, Tory Burch, recently put out an A-MAZING music CD last month- it’s her second limited edition compilation CD and it features some of Tory’s favorite songs of all time.  Did you know music is a big passion of hers?  The best part is that 100%, yes I said 100%, of the proceeds benefit the Tory Burch Foundation’s microfinance partner Accion USA.  I’m especially loving “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” by Wyclef Jean, “Bigmouth Strikes Again” by The Smiths and “Sideways” by Santana and Citizen Cope.  Pick one up here, get some music and do some good.  Oh, and while you’re at it, check out my interview with Tory from back in January.

Sex and The City 2

So last Thursday I was treated to a fun girl’s night courtesy of SJP NYC, Sarah Jessica Parker’s latest fragrance.  My friend Nadine got the opportunity to invite three of her girlfriends to dinner, the movie on opening night, a limo to get there and, best of all, Magnolia cupcakes!  We had a great sushi dinner before the 10:30 showing and definitely enjoyed taking the limo cause, let’s face it, LA traffic and parking sucks.

The verdict?  Well, we all liked the fragrance SJP NYC but the movie?  Ehh.  It was entertaining, obviously, but we all agreed that it was way too long and the story was lacking.  However, I did find a few great fashion moments.

(My absolute favorite look in the movie- Miranda at Stanford and Anthony’s wedding)

(I’m obsessed with these earrings)

(Only Samantha would wear this at a pool – love it)(Though I absolutely despise the fact that Carrie cheated on her husband only to come home to this black diamond ring by Itay Malkin, I have to admit that I do love it.)

A/X and Elle Night of Disco Glam Hosted by Joe Zee

So last week I attended a fabulous event with the even more fabulous Sydne Summer, the A/X and Elle Night of Disco Glam Hosted by Joe Zee.  As soon as we arrived, we saw Gabrielle Union step onto the red carpet and about two seconds later, we saw Rachel Zoe and her assistant Brad scrambling through the crowd to get their turn in front of the paps.  The event was definitely eventful…especially after I finally saw Kim Kardashian in real life – the rumors are true.  Her butt is HUGE.  Check out some photos from the fun night.

Inspired by Vegas poolside

So I’ve had Vegas on the brain lately and once my friend, Nadine Jolie, revealed that she wants to spend her upcoming 30th birthday poolside sipping Vegas cocktails, I’ve been on the prowl for the ultimate Vegas bikini and pool attire.  When it comes to Las Vegas, I believe in the phrase “go hard or go home” so why not go all out and play up the bling?

Frederick’s of Hollywood Limited Edition Rhinestone Rings bikini set – I actually have a similar bikini that doesn’t quite have the same”bling factor.”  This a good cut on me (and most women) and I love the circle details that make it a little different.

Tory Burch Oversized Round Sunglasses with Buckle Details – Very Jackie O.  They’re big to block out the Vegas sun and also hide the bags that will form under my eyes as a result of not sleeping for days at a time.

Kenneth Cole Reaction Cedar Springs wedge – These wedges are fab because they’ll take you from day to night plus they match literally eveything in your closet.
