So I’ve been attempting to try and do some healthy activities that I really enjoy…dancing being one of these activities. I recently took an advanced beginner ballet class with a friend at Broadway Dance Center and I remembered how much I really used to LOVE ballet. And holy shit…what a workout. Now I’ve just got to look the part- I totally would’ve rocked these bad ass ballet slippers back in the day and I’m totally into them now.

Why I Love to Hate the Genius’ at SCOOP
So if you live in NYC, you’ve definitely seen a girl carrying one of these around- the infamous SCOOP bag. See, the evil genius’ that work at SCOOP decided it would be an amazing marketing idea to produce bags bags that are thicker and more sturdy than an ordinary shopping bag, therefore inclining people to keep them and re-use them as a tote bag or beach bag (as shown with Britney Spears).
Here’s the thing- 1- I have enough shit in my apartment. Why does SCOOP have to make me feel guilty for throwing the bag out? Really, this is all their fault and I shouldn’t feel guilty at all because THEY are the ones spending an excessive amount of money to make these bags. 2- I kind of hate SCOOP anyway. Their clothes are semi-boring and definitely over-priced. Anyway, I refuse to keep any more than one SCOOP bag…and I don’t care who knows it!

He’s Just Not That Into You…But I’m Way Into Balmain
So I looooooooove Jennifer Connelly’s Balmain dress that she wore last night to the premiere of “He’s Just ot That Into You.” She wore this look straight off the runway, which is no easy task, AND how fabulously 80s is the wide shoulder/sequins look to boot? I’ll admit it, when the 80s first started coming “back” a few years ago, I was the first to cringe and exclaim “why oh why?” but now I’m totally into it. I’m thinking of digging up my old colored tube socks with penny loafers. Ha, JK.

R.E.S.P.E.C.T Aretha’s Hat Choice
So I’m not really getting the big deal everyone is making about Aretha Franklin’s hat. Personally, I think the hat suits her and come on…she’s ARETHA FRANKLIN – she can do whatever she wants.
Also, the comment that Kristi Gustafson from the Times Union made “Tone it down, honey, this is not your day” is completely off base. Really? How does a singer wearing a hat take away from Barack Obama’s big day? Grow up, Kristi. Don’t you think it’s time we stop focusing on such inconsequential things and start focusing on all of the amazing change that Obama will bring to this country?

$295 For This?
So I saw this post on FabSugar and I immediately laughed out loud. I’m not knocking Vera Wang but why would anyone ever pay $295 for this bracelet? Really?
You can easily make this bracelet. All you need is half a yard of tulle from any craft store and some rhinestones that you can hot glue on the tulle. Actually, if you wanted to get a little fancier, you could use a vintage brooch to give it a little antique feel.

Paris Hilton…Creative?
So she had her moment in the sun when she was the A-list “it girl” and now…I’m not going to go as far that she’s not A-list but there’s a distinct difference between say the Jennifer Garners and Reese Witherspoons of the world vs. the Lauren Conrads, Paris Hiltons and Nicole Richies (not that I don’t love ’em). Anyway, I was quite shocked when I saw this story on Perez about Paris Hilton’s new CRAFT LINE. Apparently it’s going to be craft “kits” to make jewelry, scrapbooking and fabric embellishment. WOW. I just really hope everything isn’t covered in the color pink and tiny little dogs.
She’s going to be attending the Craft & Hobby Assosciation 2009 Winter Convention & Tradeshow in Anaheim, CA (hometown of my Gwen Stefani!) on January 25th for an hour between 2 and 3PM for anyone in the area!
Thoughts?
