Cooling Beauty Products

Because it’s August and it is H-O-T outside…

I know I shouldn’t complain EVER about the weather in Southern California (it’s pretty much heaven), but it has been really hot this past week or two.  Like, I don’t want to leave my house hot and I only turn off the air conditioner for about 15 minutes hot.  That said, I’ve been using and loving these cooling beauty products, all of which address different areas of the body.  Why cold?  Aside from the instant cooling sensation, when something is frozen (like the Peter Thomas Roth and Votre Vu products), they actually constrict blood vessels which, in turn, help reduce puffiness and swelling.  You are welcome.

Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber De-Tox De-Puffing Eye Cubes: These are actually super fun to use.  You freeze the little green pods (liquid to frozen) then, once frozen, you put one pod into the little baggy and then apply to both eyes in a circular motion.  My skin feels firm, yet hydrated for HOURS after I use this baby, which is a soothing blend of cucumbers, arnica, green tea, chamomile, aloe, caffeine, and hyaluronic acid- all good stuff.

Votre Vu Les Sorbet Advanced Care Iced Serum for Face: Another frozen winner!  The product is purchased in liquid form and you then pour it into the packaging, freeze, and BAM…a frozen anti-aging serum that hydrates and firms.  I love applying this in the morning right when I wake up.

Jason Cooling Minerals & Tea Tree Muscle Pain Therapy: I’ve upped my work outs to 3-4 times a week (a miracle for me, I know), so add in the fact that it’s HOT outside and I basically run home to apply this stuff all over my arms and legs.  This cooling therapeutic balm delivers instant pain relief using a combination of pain relievers plus anti-inflammatory Tea Tree Oil.  You can use this gem on backaches, muscle and joint pain and even minor arthritis.

L’Occitane Verbena Cooling Hand Cream Gel: A cooling hand gel is what my dreams are made of.  The gel turns to a matte, powdery finish once applied, reducing perspiration and swelling!  The gel itself is enriched with organic verbena extract and tapioca powder to soothe and absorb, leaving hands feeling dry and cooled. How have I not had this in my life years sooner?

Yes to Cucumbers Cooling Hydrating Mist: Lastly, a hydrating mist seems like it just makes SENSE.  I usually bring a spray like this to the beach or anywhere, really, where the temperature is all kinds of ridiculous.  I like this version from Yes to Cucumbers, in particular, because it’s 96% natural and uses cucumber and other soothing, cooling ingredients to make you feel hydrated and cool.
