Here’s Why You Need These Water-Based Beauty Products in Your Life

Water-Based Beauty Products

Because hydration is the key to good skin and hair…

best Water-Based Beauty Products

Water-based gel skincare and hair care is the underrated winner of 2019 beauty, in my opinion.

I mean, yeah, they get attention (the Laneige overnight mask even won an Allure beauty award) but what most people don’t know is why these water-based beauty products are so bomb.  Aside from using water as a way to deliver their formula, I also love that fact that…

1-) They’re suitable for every skin type, and especially if you have oily skin.  Since they don’t have any synthetic oils, they’re less likely to clog your pores!

2-) They’re super lightweight.  If you’re someone (not me) who doesn’t like heavy or thick creams you will LOVE how light these feel; they’re pretty much always lightweight and bouncy when applied.

3-) They are packed with skin (and hair)-plumping hyaluronic acid.  H.A. is one of the most powerful humectants and can hold 1,000 times its weight in water. Facts.

These water-based beauty products are four of my latest faves…

laneige Water-Based Beauty Products

Laneige Water Sleeping Mask:

I featured this mask years ago in a post about the 3 best overnight face masks you can buy at the drugstore (STILL one of my most popular posts EVER) and it’s also still a favorite.  The overnight, super hydrating gel mask absorbs super fast into your skin.  It’s formulated with the brand’s highly concentrated Hydro Ionized Mineral Water to deliver high doses of moisture to your face…not to mention their Calming Sleepscent, which is infused with orange flower, rose, and sandalwood to help relax you before bed.

dr. jart - Water-Based Beauty Products

Dr. Jart+ Hydro Fuse Sleep Mask:

Another sleep mask I love, this version from Dr. Jart also removes impurities overnight so you get double the bang for your buck.  This formula contains a blend of AquaMinerals, which directs waterflow and helps maintain balanced moisture levels, visibly boosting your skin’s firmness and elasticity.

water drench

Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream:

PTR made another winner with this 30 percent hyaluronic acid cream.  According to the brand, the hydration will last up to 72 hours (major) and I absolutely LOVE the way it feels on my skin.  After I tried this cloud cream for the first time my skin was legit so smooth and felt like I just had the best facial of my life.

aqua gel conditioner

Matrix Biolage Volume Bloom Aqua-Gel Conditioner:

Now for a hair version, I was super intrigued when I heard about a gel conditioner.  It’s lightweight yet still really nourishes your hair and, best of all, it’s great for fine haired people like me!
