Because we can all use a good face mask right about now…

LOreal Pure Clay Mask Review

After getting maybe a dozen or so DMs about the L’Oreal Paris Pure Clay Mask, I knew I had to do a full review for you guys.  Typically I’m a little weary of clay face masks (since they can be a little rough on sensitive skin like mine), but L’Oreal actually makes four different versions of this pure clay mask, and I tried the version that seemed the most gentle/hydrating.

Clay face masks are REALLY good when it comes to exfoliating and refining your skin, not to mention detoxing impurities, dirt and oil.  You can use them one to a few times a week (depending on your skin type), and they’re also great for multi-masking!

Here are my thoughts…

How To Choose Your Clay Mask Match

Like I mentioned above, you want to choose a version that makes sense for your skin type and, of course, what you want to get out of the clay mask.  This pure clay mask from L’Oreal Paris also comes in a version for Clarifying & Smoothing, Exfoliating & Refining, and Detox & Brightening.

If you think you might have a bad reaction, try a patch test first where you apply the mask to a SMALL area of your face, then wait a few minutes and see how it goes.

How To Use A Clay Mask

1-) Start with clean, dry skin (freshly washed is great).

2-) Apply an even layer to your face but avoid the eye and lip area.

3-) Leave the clay mask on for 10 to 15 minutes and then remove with warm water and a towel.

Usage for this particular mask says two times per week but, like I said, it really depends on your skin and your own sensitivity.

pure-clay beauty

Ok, so I went in as a skeptic but came out as a BIG TIME FAN. The L’Oreal Paris Clear & Comfort Pure Clay Mask 100% visibly reduced my pore size after I used it the first time.  I also love that it’s formulated with seaweed (an amazing good-for-your-skin ingredient), and the mask itself feels cooling and soothing on my skin…and not drying, which is always a fear with clay masks.

My Final Thoughts:

After about 10 minutes (though I definitely could’ve done 15), my skin was SO SOFT. My normally rosy cheeks weren’t as red, and my pores were non-existent.  Two enthusiastic thumbs up…especially since it’s a drugstore steal!
