Aaaah, Coachella. Let me tell you, I always get a serious case of FOMO (fear or missing out) when this time of year rolls around, except for the two years that I actually went. But then, I remember how awesome this city is when totally empty. I’m actually really pumped for a traffic-free LA weekend…but hey, if you ARE heading to Indio, check out my tips, and tips from other lovelies like NadineJolie, PennyChic and SydneStyle before you get in your car and head to the 5.
You know I love me some serious skincare, which is exactly why Ownproducts totally fascinate me. The line is a natural skin care collection that uses CLA, a derivative of the safflower plant, to fight all three causes of aging in all three layers of the skin. In clinical studies, CLA is proven to be as effective as retinol – without the harmful side effects. Oh, and get this, they have a crazy awesome App, My Own, which uses facial-recognition technology to track 50 points on the face and analyzes a photograph of the user. The app then provides a clinical evaluation of the major signs of aging, along with nutrition, wellness and beauty recommendations based on individual aging results. What’s the secret? The app assesses signs of aging by configuring the number of fine lines, deep-set wrinkles, percentage of pigment and number of age spots. Those numbers are then compared to others in a similar age group.
Upon the evaluation, you’ll receive a side-by-side comparison of the current submitted photo and a photo of what you could look like after following a recommended skin care and wellness regimen. There’s also a tracking tool, which lets you see how your complexion changes over time, motivating you to keep up the recommended skin care and wellness regimen. Own also encourages lifestyle modification tips, like sleeping on silk pillowcases to forestall wrinkles and eating potassium-rich foods to decrease pigmentation. It’s just weird science, if you ask me, but I’m into it.

As promised, and after months and months of work (ok, my designer and coder did the real work), I’m SOOOO excited to debut the new and improved QueenoftheQuarterLifeCrisis.com.
So what does this mean? It means that I’m trying to elevate the look and feel of my blog, especially now that I’m 30 and “technically” not having a quarter life crisis anymore…yeah RIGHT. I don’t feel a day over 22 kids, and, I live in Los Angeles (aka “Never Neverland”), so I’m sticking with the name for now, regardless of my age.
Since I’m now officially a full-time blogger (crazy, I know), I’m going to be blogging on a regular schedule so let me know what you like, don’t like, and want to see more of. My comments even work now, ha! Cheers to a new beginning.
There’s something about spring fashion that just makes me HAPPY. And, obviously, black and white is a huge trend for spring, and clearly, I’m obsessed…but what am I afraid of? Looking pasty in a white top, and that’s where my Jergens Natural Glow comes into play. If you read last month’s post, then you know that I’ve had some pretty unfortunate self-tanning experiences but hey, I’m always willing to be a guinea pig when it comes to this stuff…and yeah, I’ve been pretty impressed guys. After a quick coat of my Jergens and, of course, letting it dry completely, I’m way more confident when wearing white this spring.
When you wear that perfect outfit, you look and feel radiant. With that in mind, Jergens Skincare has partnered with celebrated stylist Kate Young to create Pinterest boards of image inspiration.

I don’t know if I believe in fate but I DO believe that everything happens for a reason. And, with that said, I’m excited, yet also shocked, that today is my blog’s 7th blogiversary. How CRAZY is that?! I mean…seven years of beauty reviews (and more)? I just can’t. What’s even more shocking is that as of Tuesday, I am FULL TIME BLOGGER. Yes, that’s right…I’m going for it, guys. It’s all happening. I’m 30 now, and it’s time for me to take chances, dream big and live my life to the fullest. So here we go…happy 7th blogiversary to ME.
Also, happy 7th blogiversary to Amber, who, ironically enough, started her blog on the EXACT SAME DAY. How crazy is that?
Emmy Rossum is VERY quarter life crisis, so when I got the scoop on her skincare routine from her makeup artist, Jake Bailey, I had to share. The photo above is from the Jeffrey Fashion Cares Fundraiser hel yesterday, April 2, in New York City.
– Create the perfect canvas for any makeup look – a flawless, glowing complexion – withBioré Acne Clearing Scrub. Bioré Acne Clearing Scrub gently cleanses and polishes skin without harsh side effects or over-drying.
– Accentuate the eye by lining the top and bottom lash line with a waterproof crème liner. Apply a thin line in the crease of the eye to further emphasize the ‘mod’ look.
-Using the same waterproof crème liner, paint tiny strokes between bottom lashes to eliminate the need for false eyelashes and create a retro feeling.
– Apply a strip of full, black false eyelashes on the top lashes to create a doe-eyed effect.
– Apply a coat of waterproof black mascara on top and bottom lashes to finish the dramatic eye look.
– Highlight using a radiant, creamy concealer in a light shade along the brow bone.
– Apply a satiny lip pencil, a shade or two darker than the lips’ natural shade, to accentuate lips’ natural color while keeping the look clean and modern.
– Apply a crème blush or bronzer to cheekbones rather than a traditional powder blush to keep cheeks dewy and fresh-looking.
– Finish with a dusting of matte powder in a transparent shade across the T-Zone to eliminate shine.
