So I have refused to use bar soap for most of my life. I just never understood how it stays clean??? Think about it…is everyone supposed to have their own bar? That would make a little sense but if an entire family uses ONE bar, that’s just unsanitary. According to this article, bar soap is still the “winner” when compared to liquid soap or body wash…but I say that being a “winner” is all relative.
So remember way back when when I did a product review for No Frizz by Living Proof? Well today is part II. It’s horrible, dark and rainy here in New York City but somehow my hair has managed to stay somewhat un-poufed thanks to my friends at Living Proof! I always use the Straight Making Styling Cream before I blow dry but today I also used the Straight Making Styling Spray before I attempted to flat iron this morning and voila- my hair is almost still perfectly straight. I know a lot of people say “almost doesn’t count” but for MY hair, it does. If this miracle product can even help a tiny bit, it’s got my seal of approval!
So if I have one major celebrity fashion crush, it’s Nicole Richie. Even though our bodies couldn’t be ANY more different, I just loooove her style…so naturally, I was thrilled when I read that she will now be designing shoes in addition to her jewelry! Plus, I love the name “House of Harlow 1960” for a fashion line…
What do you think of her jewelry collection that’s sold at Kitson? Hit or miss?
So I’m not one to be all rah rah about living the single life…especially in a city like New York where you’re constantly seeing super hot girls with ordinary looking guys just due to plain old supply and demand. Anyhow, a friend sent me this really inspiring article from MSN called “Six Lessons Every Single Person Should Know.” I like that the author focuses on ways to improve YOUR life and make YOU happy as opposed to a “how to attract men” article that we usually read. Not every single woman in NYC is desperate…ok?

So unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, you’ve heard about Jade Goody’s untimely death at the age of 27. Jade died of cervical cancer, a completely preventable and curable form of cancer, if caught in time. According to this article on DailyFinance, “British reality TV star Jade Goody’s public battle with cervical cancer may seem distasteful. But it will probably help save lives. Pap tests to screen for cervical cancer in young women have reportedly increased 20 percent in Britain since Goody announced that she was terminally ill in August (she died this week at age 27).” In my opinion, it’s a sad, sad day when a mother won’t give her daughter a vaccine that has proven to be the biggest cancer breakthrough in a DECADE because she fears that it might encourage her to be promiscuous and have pre-marital sex. I can’t speak for young girls, but as someone who has completed all three shots in the series, I can say that I’m a strong avocate of the vaccine and I just can’t understand why any mother (or anyone for that matter) would be against protecting themself from this life threating disease. 27 is too young and maybe if the HPV vaccine had been around a few years earlier, it could’ve prevented Jade’s death.
