Poolside beauty

Because this week marks my 6th year living in LA and we are ALL about the rooftop pool around here…

If you follow me on Insta, then you know that I consistently brag about my amazing rooftop.  As this week marks my sixth (yes, SIXTH) year living in Los Angeles, I was recently thinking about my apartment hunt trying to find the perfect apartment for my big move to California.  One of the things that was an absolute MUST for me was having a rooftop pool.  Ridiculous, yes I know, but you’d be surprised how many (e.g. MOST) apartments in Hollywood actually DO have rooftop pools…so I didn’t think I was being that picky.

I like to call my rooftop the “panty dropper” aspect of my building, because it really does sell this place and whenever I’m having an “UGH, I have to get OUT of Hollywood” moment, I just take the elevator up to my roof and remember why I love it here so much.

Drunk Elephant Umbra Sheer Physical Defense SPF 30: Obviously sunscreen is crucial when you’re hanging out on a rooftop with barely any shade (there is ONE corner, though!).  Lately I’m loving this version rom Drunk Elephant which is actually formulated without any chemicals at all.  The zinc oxide base makes this sunscreen perfect for any skin type (especially good for sensitive) and it’s also infused with tons of good-for-your-skin ingredients like sunflower shoot extract, raspberry seed oil and marula oil (great for intense moisture and healing).

La Roche Posay Eau Thermale: Like I mentioned before, with only a little shade it can definitely get HOT.  This thermal water spray is fab because it’s rich in antioxidant that really soothe and soften the skin.

Rene Furterer Solaire Protective Summer Oil: My hair is always a concern for me (duh), but the summer sun is especially bad for your COLOR.  I recently tried this protective summer oil for the first time and absolutely LOVE it.  It’s important to note that this is a DRY oil, so your hair won’t get greasy or weighed down…which is something that I always avoid myself.  It has KPF 90, which provides UV protection (and protects color), in addition to castor oil for nourishment and sesame oil to protect your hair/give it a shiny finish.  What’s also great about this spray is that you can use it on wet OR dry hair…so you’ve got options, guys.

L’Occitane Peony Lip Balm: I blogged about this awesome lip balm last week because it’s definitely been a big staple for me this summer.  I love the flavor/fragrance AND that it has SPF 25 to protect your lips from the sun.  My lips feel like pure butter (with the scent of peony) every time I use this stuff. LOVE.
