What to Buy from Sephora’s Spring Savings Event

Sephora spring savings event

Because it only happens twice a year…

I debated whether or not I wanted to do this post; And I know so many people are really struggling not just emotionally, but also financially and don’t want to ever come off as insensitive to that.  I feel it too and, most importantly, I want to preface this post by saying please do not buy anything you can not afford.

That said, I spent about four hours pulling together my all-time/evergreen favorites from the Sephora spring savings eventThe sale only happens two times a year, so if you’ve been wanting to try one of the products I’ve been ranting on and on about, now is a great time to click “purchase.”

Quarantine favorites

A silk sleeping mask is also something I always say to grab up.  This one from SLIP is super luxe and comes in a bunch of colors. Sleep is EVERYTHING to keep you healthy.

I got this candle a few years ago from a beauty brand and it really is the best; the scent (“Lazy Sunday Morning”) is relaxing and I love the chic branding.

A coconut body scrub is also a thing you need right now. We can all pretend we’re on a beach vacation together…

Speaking of coconut, I recently blogged about this coconut oil dental floss. I’ve been using it more than usual since I’m now three months overdue for my teeth cleaning (!).  Gotta keep the teeth fresh until we can all get back to the dentist.

I’ve actually been taking vitamin D supplements for years (since I’ve spent the better half of my life avoiding the sun as much as possible, ha).  But now, more than ever, it’s important to make sure that your vitamin D levels are good with all the indoor time happening right now. I love HUM Nutrition Here Comes The Sun!

Skincare

One of my all time favorites – the Lord Jones High CBD Formula Body Lotion is on sale for $42! (Regular price: $60).

The Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask is always in my night stand and their Cica Sleeping Mask (for your face) is a new favorite that I’ll be reviewing soon on here!  I reviewed the original Water Sleep Mask years ago and it’s still a favorite.

Let’s talk about all things Sunday Riley now.  You’ve seen me rave about their Good Genes All-In-Once Lactic Acid Treatment, and I just finished my second bottle of their ICE Ceramide Moisture Cream, which does in fact smell like ice cream.  I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this moisturizer.  Oh and I also recently started using their Luna Retinol Sleeping Night Oil – it’s super hydrating and you’d never know it was actually amazing for anti-aging (since a lot of anti-aging products dry out the skin).

You’ve definitely seen these Wander Beauty gold eye mask patches on my IG feed.  They’re honestly just the best and really do hydrate and brighten the area around your eye (without any sticky goop running down your face).

This under-eye massage device is always a go-to when I’m feeling puffy and a little bloated in the face. I use it mostly when m sinus’s act up but it’s great for everyday use, too!

And, lastly, if I had to pick one product you absolutely must try it would be the Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Universal Daily Peel.  You’ve probably seen me use them on my IG Stories before, and for good reason; they are easy, fast and will change your skin for the better.  They also make an Extra Strength version which, to be honest, was a little too intense for my rosacea/sensitive skin.  I’m fine with the Universal version but they do also have a third “Ultra Gentle” version for anyone with extra sensitivity.

Makeup

I’ve been raving about this mascara for YEARS…and even though I’m currently using another mascara, this will always be one of my holy grail versions.  Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara is dark and intense, just like I like my eyelashes to look.  Inspired by the curves of a woman’s body, the hourglass-shaped brush was designed with extra stiff bristles to maximize the performance of this carbon black, collagen-fueled formula. One coat and lashes are full and defined.

Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb is another perennial favorite; it’s always in my purse and I have two more in my bathroom.  This universal lip luminizer is one of the best lip glosses I’ve ever tried.  The non-sticky formula is super shiny, and has an addictive peach-vanilla scent you just can’t get enough of. According to the brand, “Rihanna was obsessed with creating the perfect gloss that makes you want to put it on over and over again” and she definitely nailed it.

This concealer is a (fairly) new favorite.  Shiseido Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing Concealer is a long-wearing concealer that “synchronizes” with your skin and self-refreshes nonstop.  Essentially, it uses Japanese technology to resist heat, oil, humidity, and even motion so you maintain coverage that lasts up to 24 hours. It also helps brighten the look of under-eye fatigue and dullness. And, I swear, my eyes really sparkle when I use this stuff.

Top pick:

This CC Cream from It Cosmetics has been my #1 for years (hint: the coverage is really foundation status but without the weight).  I can’t rave about this stuff enough and I’m being totally honest when I tell you that I get the most compliments on my skin when I’m wearing this foundation!  This version is the “illuminating” version but the regular and matte versions are just as amazing.  The color-correcting, full-coverage, anti-aging skincare cream of your dreams, guys.  AND with SPF 50+ physical sunscreen to boot.  Aside from being just a great foundation, it’s also formulated with an anti-aging serum made of hydrolyzed collagen, peptides, vitamins, and antioxidants that work in harmony to visually diminish the look of wrinkles and pores.

Olaplex's deep conditioning hair mask

Hair

Olaplex’s deep conditioning hair mask is a cult classic, and for good reason. To be honest, I usually forget to use this (or any overnight hair mask, really).  But now that we have tons of pampering time, I’ve been using it more and definitely see a difference in my hair’s texture and softness.

This AQUIS hair towel turban has definitely changed my life.  The light and comfortable hair towel reduces hair drying time by up to 50% (!), and is made from fabric that is specifically created to not grab  and pull at your hair (like a regular bath towel does).  It also comes in pink, purple, black/white combo and black.

Drybar’s Detox Dry Shampoo is one of those iconic hair products people can identify in a crowded room by scent alone. LOVE this stuff.

I’ve talked about how much I love OUAI’s Scalp & Body Scrub since it launched and if you haven’t tried it yet, now’s the time.  It has the brand’s signature scent that I LOVE, Melrose Place, and removes product buildup from your scalp…of course it works double time as a body scrub, too.

Top pick:

I’ve been using the DpHue Color Touch-Up Spray on my patch of grey hair (FML) and it’s definitely one of the best root touch up sprays that I’ve tried!  I’ve been using “Dark Blonde” and it’s an almost-perfect match; the targeted nozzle delivers a concentrated blast for covering gray roots with precision application. The wider nozzle is ideal for blending at the root, covering stray grays and avoiding staining your scalp. I love that you get two options and, therefore, more application control.
