Treating my skin in the New Year

This post is sponsored by Target but all products were selected and reviewed by me. All opinions are my own, as per usual.

Because you’ve got to treat your skin well…

I decided at the end of last year that 2016 was going to be ALL about treating myself well. That means no more self-deprecation, no more beating myself up for things I can’t control and, lastly, taking care of myself—especially my skin. I’ve always been good about taking care of my skin for the most part, but when Target challenged me to work with one of their Beauty Concierges to find a new “love your skin” kind of skin-care regimen, I was excited to try out what she recommended.

I told my Beauty Concierge that I love all things Neutrogena, and, since I’m an avid user of the Rapid Wrinkle Repair Serum, she told me that I would also love the Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Moisturizer SPF 30. It has broad-spectrum SPF, naturally, and I especially love it because it has time-released retinol that you CAN wear during the day (you can’t with most retinol), hence the SPF.

Since I have most of my other daytime skin care on lock, we also decided that I needed a new night cream. Since I have sensitive skin, we opted for RoC Retinol Correxion Sensitive Night Cream. Basically, I’m doubling up on my retinol usage because, let’s be honest, I’m not getting ANY younger and my fine lines are really starting to get to me. This version is perfect for me since it’s for sensitive skin, and sometimes retinol can cause a bit of irritation.

Lastly, we know I love a good overnight beauty product. The Laneige Firming Sleeping Mask is an AMAZING overnight gel mask that helps with the skin’s elasticity and also has peptides and other hydrating ingredients to really plump up the skin while you sleep.

Now, for my body…

Next up, I told the Beauty Concierge that I LOVE body oils. She recommended Sonia Kashuk Body Oil in Red Promisia and, let me tell you, nothing makes my skin feel softer or sexier. The oil has a blend of botanical oils and a vitamin complex mixed in with this super sexy scent that I can’t describe, but, trust me, it’s good.

Lastly, you guys know I’m a big Aveeno fan, but they just launched a version of their Skin Relief body wash that has, wait for it, COCONUT. Had. To. Try. It. The Aveeno Skin Relief Gentle Scent Body Wash is a super creamy wash that cleanses but is also great for sensitive skin that might be itchy or dry (hello, WINTER).

We decided that I needed to try a new body scrub because body oils are CRAZY luxurious. I settled on Boots Botanics Invigorating Body Scrub in Mediterranean Eden. The sea-salt crystals in this scrub, which smells amazing btw, help scrub off any dead or dry skin. I’m obsessed.
