Because keeping busy will help…
I’m sitting here on election night not really knowing what to expect but feeling ALL of the feelings; anxiety, fear, excitement…I’m really just trying to get through this without totally going unhinged, you know? I’m sipping Kombucha (#SoberNovember) and watching reruns of Veronica Mars for the 400th time but, tomorrow, I plan on doing my work AND working my way through this list, just to keep busy.
I hope it gives some of you a little bit of happiness and, dare I say, enjoyment (?) as we wait!
10 Beauty-Related Things to Do While We Wait Out This Election
A DIY Scalp Facial
Doing a scalp facial (with product or your own DIY formula) is always relaxing.

Lip Detox
I can’t even tell you how life-changing this is once you do it just one time. You’re welcome and I’m sorry.

Spa Day at Home
I did a whole blog post on how to do a spa day at home (for COVID) a few months back and it alllll still tracks. We’re talking face, hands, hair, feet, eyes, lips, and body. Get your spa on. ENJOY.
Reorganize your beauty products
Organizing is always a really productive time suck, haha. A few years back I did a BIG overhaul of my beauty closet with Life In Jeneral and you can see all our best tips HERE. Trust me, you will feel 100 once you purge and organize your beauty stash.
Learn a new beauty skill on YouTube
As someone who hasn’t uploaded a video to her YouTube channel since October 2019, I’m certainly not the expert on beauty videos here BUT, that said, there are literally thousands of amazing beauty YouTubers to watch and learn from. If you’ve been wanting to learn how to do a cat eye, or maybe how to contour like a Kardashian (!), just search for it, watch and learn.
Side note: I DO really love the videos I did on my 9 easy concealer hacks, how to do beach waves for fine hair, and four acne products that actually work.
Do a hair mask
Oh how I loooove a good hair mask. If you don’t have one on-hand at home (and don’t want to brave going to the store), you can actually just use your regular conditioner – just apply it to your hair while in the shower, don’t wash it out and leave it in for an hour, or even sleep with it in your hair. Done, you have an impromptu hair mask.
See my favorite hair masks in the original blog post for this HERE.
Try a new face mask
I recently did a post on multi-masking and if you have a few face masks at home that you love, I HIGHLY suggest a fun multi-masking sesh. Personally, I love any face mask that is super hydrating and leaves my skin replenished and smooth.

Clean your makeup brushes
I did a full Reader Question post on this exact topic here but considering that we’re all trying to fight Coronavirus here, cleaning your makeup brushes is more important than ever before.
Ice roll your face
I did a full post on why you need the Insta-famous ice roller HERE (and what it really does) and I still feel v. strongly about it. This is my favorite ice roller and you will love it, too.
Take a long bath
Personally, I only love a bath every once in awhile but while we all have some extra time at home a bath is always a good idea to help you relax. Right now I’m loving the Lord Jones High Formula CBD Bath Salts since they also help relax my lower back.
