Because Coronavirus is forcing us to wash our hands way more often and my hands are dry AF…
Hand care is always important, trust me. As someone who is totally paranoid about getting hand wrinkles (yes, the skin on your hands ages fast guys!) and also does a good amount of hand modeling here on the blog (lol I know), I’m the first person who lathers up with hand cream after washing dishes in hot water…and even more so now thanks to Coronavirus.
Ugh. Coronavirus. A lot like everyone else in LA I’m trying not to freak out but it’s getting harder and harder every day with the way people are stockpiling toilet paper and all that, right?
Anyway, now that everyone reading this has purchased 25 bottles of hand soap, I’m here to talk to you about how to prevent dry hands after constant washing: hand cream. Here are a few of my favorites and they all appear to still be in stock, so get on it 🙂
My Recommended Hand Care Products
Anyone who knows me knows that I’m obsessed with keeping my hands wrinkle-free, so when I first heard about this retinol-enhanced hand cream I was IN. The formula is slow-released and feels like a dream once you apply it to your hands. It’s hard to say whether or not my hands look younger after using this stuff since I don’t actually have wrinkles or age spots on my hands but I kinda just know it’s working regardless since it feels so amazing.
I always love a good BBW body product and their Aromatherapy collection is definitely a favorite always. This specific scent is formulated to help with stress relief since it contains eucalyptus essential oil, which helps to clear the mind, and spearmint essential oil to soothe and uplift. The formula also has shea butter and vitamin E for tons of hydration and I really DO feel more relaxed after using this hand cream. For real.
Full disclosure I haven’t tried this hand cream but it’s just so chic I had to include it! According to the brand website. La Creme Main leaves skin 40% more protected and 45% more hydrated; nail strength is significantly improved by 70%, which is pretty damn impressive.
This Concentrated Hand Cream offers a rich, protective hand cream that quickly absorbs into the skin and helps repair dry, chapped hands. It is formulated with the purest ingredients. Including, thermal spring water, pure white beeswax, and paraffin oil to provide intense hydration. Just like the Neutrogena hand cream, this version is also clinically shown to provide up to 24 hours of hydration. And, in fact, it also lasts through FIVE hand washes. That seems like a lot, right?
You all know how much I LOVE the Neutrogena Hydro Boost line and this hand cream is no exception. The cream is powered by hyaluronic acid, which is found naturally in the skin already. And really does boost the hydration level in your hands and then locks it in. It’s not greasy at all and is clinically shown to moisturize your hands for a full 24 hours. Which is great for anyone who hates re-applying (you know who you are, haha). Oh, and it’s also perfect for travel (if you’re still traveling!) since it’s only three ounces.
My client JAFRA’s Spa line is highly underrated, in my opinion. I already talked about my legit love of their Mud Mask and when I saw they also had a hand cream specifically for night time use, I was excited to try it. This night lotion is made with shea, cocoa and red mango seed butters to help hydrate and condition your hands and cuticles, nurturing your skin and then leaving behind a calming scent of saffron and lavender that is just the best-smelling night time scent.
I searched high and low for a hand cream with a decent amount of SPF (most only have SPF 15!) and leave it to Supergoop! to get it done. This super-luxe formula not only hydrates your hands but it’s also packed with broad-spectrum SPF 40 sunscreen, powerful antioxidants, and skin-supporting oils.
If you’re looking for a “clean” hand cream option I love this one – it’s reef-safe, too!
