Support your teams with style and class

Lady GaGa supporting the New York Yankees and Sydne Summer tastefully supporting the LA Lakers

So I saw this crazy photo of Lady GaGa the other day and I was honestly a little grossed out.  We all know that I love me some Lady GaGa but come on, there’s a fine line.  The whole Yankee jersey fiasco made me think about how I don’t own ANY clothing to support my home state teams (New York Knicks and New York Mets) because frankly, everything I see is a made for a dude.  I recently heard about Alyssa Milano’s sportswear line and thought it was such an innovative idea that I had to share.  I mean, I’ve never really thought much about Alyssa Milano…her ridiculous Jersey Shore parody annoyed me, frankly and she hasn’t really had a real job since Charmed but hey, at least she’s making some money off her sportswear line, touch by Alyssa Milano.

Farmhouse Fresh Whoopie Cream Shea Butter

So we all know that I’m a sucker for beauty products that smell like food but this one really “takes the cake,” no pun intended.  I opened up a jar of Farmhouse Fresh Whoopie Cream Shea Butter and literally sighed to myself.  The delicious shea butter body creme makes me think of a home made cake that my Grandmother might’ve made…more specifically, whoopie pies, which I don’t think I’ve ever actually had but now really, really want.  The jar is vintage-inspired (adorable) and contains yummy and good for you ingredients like shea and cocoa butters, jojoba seed oil, soybean oil, aloe, vitamin A and E.  Oh and it’s also paraben and sulfate-free, for you eco friendly people.  There are no words that can actually describe how good this stuff smells so you should probably just check it out for yourself.  A perfect gift.

Hudson Jeans VIP Party

So my friend’s Jessie and Dina invited me to a fabulous LA party on behalf of their client, Hudson Jeans, at the newly opened The Colony.  I was super excited to attend this event for the following reasons- 1-) I haven’t seen Jessie and Dina since I left NY 2-) Hudson Jeans are awesome and 3-) I’d been dying to check out The Colony, since it’s “Hamptons-inspired.”  Sydne and I, as usual, were twinsies with our matching studded Matt & Nat bags, naturally.  The party was really fun and I even got to bring my friend Kelley, who had been hibernating in her apartment for the last few months due to some very exciting news!  As a side note, I need to have someone start reminding me that I really should slap on some self-tanner to my legs before going to these events…any takers?

Physique 57…Los Angeles

So I’ve been on a really big fitness kick lately so when I heard that the famed Physique 57 was opening up its first Los Angeles location, I was super excited to check it out.  I brought my partner-in-crime, Sydne Summer, along so I’d have someone to laugh with when I failed miserably at keeping up with this class that’s known through out Manhattan as “death by Physique 57.”  True story.

We started out with some hand weight exercises, which was surprisingly pretty easy for me (thank you to my trainers!!!).  We went through a series of fast paced exercise movements that all echoed parts of ballet, yoga and pilates, which I love.  The barre activites were natural to me with my background in ballet and it actually really motivated me to look into taking some adult ballet classes again, a la Broadway Dance in New York City.  For me, I’d say the hardest part of this class was definitely when we put the Physique balls behind our knees and did a series of flexing movements.  I never realized how out of shape my calves are!  Overall the Physique 57 class was an amazing workout and I couldn’t recommend the instructor more.  She was super enthusiastic and supportive…especially when I looked like I was about to die, she would come over and cheer me on.  If you’re looking for a great workout in NYC (and now LA), you should definitely head over to Physique 57.

Dina Manzo leaves the Real Housewives of New Jersey!

So I don’t ususually do much blogging about reality TV (unless it’s Jersey Shore-related, haha) but I’m just so sad after seeing/hearing the news that Real Housewives of New Jersey star, Dina Manzo, is leaving the show mostly due to arch nemesis, Danielle Staub!  I kind of hate this kind of reality TV…BUT I’ll be the first to admit that I’m competely and utterly hooked on RHONJ, in a serious way.  Out of all of the crazy NJ ladies, Dina is definitely the most relatable and, gasp, even tries to actually do some GOOD with her charity, Project Ladybug.  The one thing that always bugged me is that you never, I repeat, never, see her husband Tommy Manzo.  What’s up wth that?

Well, after some good old fashioned Google-stalking, I found the above video…and I nearly died.  Dina Manzo, you are completely ridiculous.  I love you today, yesterday and always.  Come back to the show!
