How to cure a hangover
Hangovers obviously suck and, as we/I get older, they get worse and WORSE. And then there’s the recovery time…let’s just say not so good. In honor of New Year’s Day, I’ve pulled together a few of my favorite go-to hangover cures. These aren’t scientific by any means, but they sure work for me.
French fries: my all-time favorite food. I always say “no matter how full I am, there’s always room for french fries” and god do they help a nasty hangover. (image via Pinterest.com)
In New York we call it “seltzer,” everywhere else calls it “club soda” or “soda water.” Whatever you want to call it, it’s my go-to drink that I’m convinced helps with hangovers. (image via Pinterest.com)
Eggs are actually proven to help with hangovers due to the fact that they contain large amounts of cysteine, the substance that breaks down the hangover-causing toxin acetaldehyde in the liver. How’s that for cheap science? (image via FitSugar.com)
Speaking of eggs, this “hangover pizza” is a great cure-all. (image via WasabiPrime.blogspot.com)

My latest piece for Shape.com: Healthy One-Pot Meals
Many of you might know that I recently started freelancing for Shape.com and it’s quickly becoming a big obsession for me, e.g. researching and learning about healthy recipes. Yes, I said it. The girl who literally never cooked anything aside from pasta (until maybe four years ago) is now writing articles about COOKING. It’s a big accomplishment for me, both as a writer AND as a 30-year-old who used to literally live on NYC Chinese takeout and salads from Chipotle. Ok, so I still probably get salads from Chipotle at least twice a week (they are GOOD, guys), but at least now I can feasibly make simple and healthy things for myself. Case and point, THESE recipes for healthy one-pot meals. Tell me, what are your easy go-to meals?

Sautéd Kale and Avocado Salad
You know when you feel like you want something to eat but you’re not quite that hungry? I felt that way today, after eating a big breakfast. It was around 2pm and I knew that if I didn’t eat then, I would be hungry by 4 and then my dinner schedule would get ALL KINDS of messed up. UGH, it’s a tough life, lol. Anywho, I came across this recipe on Shape.com and it looks so good (and easy). I skipped the quinoa and apple, since I didn’t have any at home, but the combo of sauted kale and avocado is light and yet, I’m still satisfied. Oh, and two words for you: truffle salt.
